A nice soft wool is good for knit. I suppose it would be good for crochet, too. ?

I want to make the scarf with the spiral sides (or ends).

I tried the pattern yesterday with TLC and it just don't drape good at all.

This is the one I am wanting to make:

Wish I knew what yarn they used here for this one, I like the striping.

Paton's Grace is lovely, in cotton, but expensive and small skeins.

Caron Simply Soft is one I like, in acrylic.

Be nice to know what others like, too.

I would think that thinner yarn like a size 3 yarn would drape better.

Yea, sport would probably be real good for drape in a scarf.
I know that the Caron Simply Soft 4ply seems more like
the weight of sport yarn when you crochet with it. I also like
the medium weight yarns, it is always a bit softer too.

Do you all know of one that makes up in strips when worked up,
like that one in the video?

They called it a surprise yarn. Because of the color change. They didn't say what kind of yarn they used. But the skein that he had looks like the Jojoland skein, But they don't have the bright color changes like the video..   http://www.jojoland.com
I just ordered some of this for a scarf. http://www.yarnmarket.com/yarn/No...C-9001-127297544522-S-25722296522

I like that yarn a lot! To make a 6 foot long scarf, I wonder how many balls of it I would get

What does DK weight compare to, for instance lets say, to worsted weight?

I really do like the worsted for making a scarf like in the video.

The DK weight is between the Sport and worsted.
Cobweb, Lace weight, Finger weight, Sport weight, DK, worsted, Heavy worsted, Bulky and then Chunky..

Yea, they do have some nice things projects at Jojoland.
